This should be an amazing show to watch. The whole world was mesmerized by the horror of the thought of a young daughter being abducted and then abused for months on end. Ms Smart’s ordeal was absolutely tragic, but ended so much better than thousands of cases like hers. The fact that she is even alive is a miracle!
I remember speaking to the Utah State Crime Lab director, who helped process the Smart home, a few years after she had been found. He said he wished he had had an M-Vac system to collect Mitchell’s DNA from the kitchen window and window seal where Mitchell had tried to get into the house. He was pretty confident the M-Vac would have collected enough DNA from the area to have generated a profile and they could have caught Mitchell sooner. How amazing would THAT have been?
